Dr. Elysse Cillay PT, DPT
Elysse is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Owner of Traverse and a former four year Division 1 collegiate athlete at Washington State University. It was her background in athletics which sparked her interest in a career in Physical Therapy. Elysse delt with a number of ongoing injuries and a season ending injury in college, which led to many hours working and learning alongside physical therapists and athletic trainers. However, it was during her time in Spain hiking on the El Camino de Santiago which truly led her down the path to become a physical therapist. Using her knowledge from her own injuries, and experience in higher level athletics Elysse enjoyed helping other hikers who encountered injuries limiting their ability to continue on their trek.
Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist, Elysse worked as a teacher in the US as well as Spain for 3 years. During that time she spent her free time traveling throughout Europe, Africa and South & Central America, as well as walking approximately 400 miles on the El Camino de Santiago.
Elysse has been living and working in Ketchikan for the last 5 years and is married with 3 daughters and a wild husky. Elysse is excited to continue sharing her love for movement, exercise and sports performance with the community.
